A police rookie had an emotional reunion with a retired lieutenant who saved his life as a baby. Gene Eyster, the retired lieutenant, rescued Matthew Hegedus-Stewart when he was found in a box by three students. Now, Hegedus-Stewart serves as a police officer in the same department that saved his life. Eyster appeared on 'Fox & Friends Weekend' with Hegedus-Stewart and shared his surprise when he learned about the new recruit's identity. He explained that the nickname 'Baby Jesus' was given to the baby they rescued just days before Christmas. Hegedus-Stewart was later adopted after receiving medical care and being taken to Child Protective Services. He expressed his gratitude for finally meeting the person who saved his life and gaining closure. Eyster admitted that he had no information about Hegedus-Stewart beyond that day, and the young officer also had limited information about his rescue. When asked if this event influenced his decision to become a police officer, Hegedus-Stewart said that, subconsciously, "that's probably why I ended up where I am now."
