Our special guest on the Sunday Journal July 21st was Kristine Wetzel. Kristine shared with us a little bit about her daughter McKenna and the McKenna Claire Foundation.
McKenna was living the life of a happy and healthy 7-year-old girl, until she came down with what everyone thought was the flu. After several doctor’s visits and an MRI, Dave and Kristine received the worst news possible, their little girl had an incurable brain tumor.
Within six months of her diagnosis, she was gone. But McKenna’s legacy really does live on.
Dave and Kristine Wetzel formed the McKenna Claire Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to help find a cure for pediatric brain cancer by raising awareness, increasing community involvement and funding research.
If you missed the show Sunday morning you can hear it here and learn about some of the amazing strides the McKenna Claire Foundation has made toward their mission, the incredible events the foundation has held and how we all can get involved so that no other family has to go through the devastating loss of a child.
