Talk about "don't try this at home." There's a new trend in tanning that works but is probably not the best idea. It involves everyone's favorite soft drink, Coke.

Turns out people are using Coke to get the perfect tan. You can rub the drink all over yourself for an instant bronzing. Many are even using it as a tanning oil. Doctors are warning that this can be very dangerous.

Coke doesn't provide any SPF protection. If you use it as a tanning oil, there is zero protection from the sun which can cause some major damage to your skin. The acid in the soda kills dead skin cells which then allows UV rays to penetrate the skin. This can end in a serious burn.

So next time you're by the pool, just drink your coke and keep it off you body!
