Alcohol Permanently Banned From In-House Fraternity Parties At...

UCLA fraternities no longer can host in-house events with alcohol according to the UCLA Inter-fraternity Council.

The executive board passed the ban Tuesday night and was confirmed by Kevin Dougherty, the director of fraternity and sorority life.

The sororities and fraternities were informed of the ban through text, messaging apps and emails.

The reason for the ban is due to an alleged sexual assault this past Saturday night. UCPD responded to a report of sexual assault where a man was arrested and charged with intent to commit rape and oral copulation.
