NASA has announced that stargazers may have the chance to witness a rare event this year. A star system located 3,000 light-years away from Earth is predicted to become visible. This phenomenon, known as the "nova outburst", only occurs approximately every 80 years and was last observed in 1946. Astronomers believe that the star system will experience another explosion before September 2024. NASA stated in a blog post that after reaching its peak brightness, the star will be visible to the naked eye for several days and can be seen with binoculars for just over a week before fading away, possibly not to be seen again for another 80 years. The outburst, which will appear as a bright "new" star, will be located in the constellation Corona Borealis, also known as the Northern Crown, which forms a semicircular arc near Bootes and Hercules.
