The second weekend-long closure of the San Diego 405 Freeway is scheduled to take place tonight through the early morning hours of October 1st. The freeway will be closed for ten miles in both directions through the Sepulveda Pass so that crews can continue the demolition of the Mulholland bridge. Crews will begin shutting down ramps at 7 p.m. tonight with lanes to start closing at 10 p.m. They aren't expected to reopen to traffic until 5 a.m. on Monday, October 1st. Ramps and connectors are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Experts say about a half-million vehicles would normally utilize the 405 during the time it's scheduled to be closed.

Motorists throughout the State of California are asked to “Plan Ahead, Avoid the Area, or Eat, Shop and Play Locally.”
