What was your first radio job? I interned for a morning show, and I got to go to many red carpet events, so I LOVED it.
What was the worst job you ever had? hmm...this is a tough one. I think I've liked all my jobs, but some have been harder than others. I think the toughest was charging for parking at the Orange Blossom Festival in Riverside. We had to flag people to come to our lots and charge them, all under the heat of the 90 degreessun...and did I mention I forgot the sunblock? Yeah, not pretty. The second hardest was probably being a telemarketer. I had tons of people yell at me and hang up. I don't blame them, but hey it was my job to interrupt their dinner hehe
Most embarrassing on-air moment?I'm not sure that this ever aired, but messing up a realitystar's name...his last name was Fairplay and well I said something else ; ) Oh and also interviewing Carmen Electra and calling her Jenny McCarthy oops! But the worst was last year when Mark & Kim revealed that I had a crush on my personal trainer...on the air...and while he was on the phone! I don't think I've ever blushed that much.
Best experience in radio? Meeting some of my closest friends, tons of celebrities and our wonderful listeners. And hearing myself on the air for the VERY first time...I was like "Oh my gosh...that's me!"
If you weren't in radio, what would you be doing?I would be a broadcast journalist, an actress, a writer, a lawyer, a stylist, a PR person or a school counselor.
What advice would you give to anyone who would like to get into the business? I would say intern, intern, intern.Work VERY HARD, be persistent, network, and be willing to make sacrifices.
Best artist you met/interviewed?
WOW this is tough...I've met lots of cool people, but I was SUPER excited to meet Steve Martin because he's AMAZING. As a 90's kid meeting Bob Saget from "Full House," and Scott Baio from "Charles in Charge" was a big deal. I alsoprobably earned major cool girl points for scoring a sit-down interview with Matthew McConaughey ;) Still, the ULTIMATE COOLEST person I've met has to be JOHN TRAVOLTA!
The girls and I went shopping for bridesmaids dresses on Saturday! Look who kept me company! My friend Sarah's baby, Asher James! I ADORE him. We hung out in the waiting area while the girls tried on dresses. Check out his little legs...aren't they to die for!?!?!?
So Gerard is a HUGE tennis fan, which means I've learned A LOT about the sport in recent years. In fact, we have an annual tradition where we go to the big Indian Wells tournament and make a fun weekend in the desert out of it. Well this year we didn't have to travel that far to watch some great tennis. On March 4th UCLA's newly renovated Pauley Pavilion hosted the L.A. Tennis Challenge. It was perfect for us! You know this proud Bruin is always looking for an excuse to visit her alma mater. And Gerard is always looking for an excuse to watch tennis. Seriously a match made in Heaven!
Well, not only was I impressed by the new Pauley, but the lineup was also outstanding. There were three exhibition pro-set matches. The main course was Djokovic vs L.A.'s Mardy Fish in singles, followed by a doubles match between Djokovic and his childhood idol Sampras against SoCal natives The Bryan Brothers.
Djokovic killed it! I think it was due to the crowd's energy. Everyone was so happy to see him...the #1 tennis player in the world...finally playing in L.A...HUGE! He filled the house...and not just with regular tennis fans, but also with some big hollywood names including, Bruce Willis, Rainn Wilson, Dr. Phil, Jodie Foster, Gerard Butler, Keenan Wayans, and more that I probably couldn't spot.
One of the highlights of the night was when Rainn Wilson took over the umpire chair. He was hilarious! It was a great night! To quote my friend David, or someone he quoted haha "tennis is alive and well in L.A."
Every year for V-Day, Gerard surprises me. I never know what we're doing or where we're going until we get there. This year was no different. We drove up to what looked like a liquor store. I was confused. Then the guy behind the register said "I'll show you to your table." He took us downstairs into a basement. To my surprise, the basement was actually a wine cellar/restaurant called 55 Degree Wine! It was AWESOME! Candle light dinner and wine tasting...it was a perfectly romantic evening. Of course a special night called for a spacial outfit...FAB in fact. So I decided that Valentine's dinner was the perfect moment to premiere my new fab jewelry from JutFab.
For the month of February Kimora Lee Simmons sent me the JustFab Saving Grace necklace in gold and the Award Season ring in Rose Gold. The two were perfect for Valentine's Day...simple...fab...glam...and a romantic shade of rose. For V-Day I chose to wear them together. I figured both of the fab pieces were the finishing touch to my Valentine's outfit, which consisted of black leggings, a black tank top, and a light pink blazer. It was perfect. The gold necklace complimented the black in my outfit and the rose gold ring complimented my blazer.
I love how simple and classy the Saving Grace necklace was. It's also pretty versatile and has the right amount of sparkle. The Award Season cocktail ring in Rose Gold was also pretty fab. However, it was a little chunkier than I expected. Initially I thought they were three rings strung together, but it actually is just one the gives off that look. I will say though, the color is great...a nice coppery shade of rose gold. But if that's not your cup of tea both the Saving Grace Necklace and the Award Season ring come in silver as well. For more details on both visit www.justfab.com
Thanks for completing my V-Day look Kimora!
I'm soooo excited!!! I love all of them! I'm a lucky girl =)
