Personality Bio

Q&A

Do you have a nickname?
I get called Bry Guy a lot.

Are you single or married?
Married.

How many children do you have?
I have two great sons.

Do you own a pet?
Over the years I've had Dogs, Cats and Fish. Cats are the easiest because they're the most self sufficient. But I wouldn't say I own them, they own me.

Hobbies?
I've started a microphone collection and I have an extensive compilation of recordings of other DJ's on the air. I’m quite the radio geek!

Favorite Color?
I have two, Green and blue

Favorite Song?
That's a tough one as I love all kinds of music. I don't think I can name just one. I really love Earth Wind & Fire, but Steely Dan fills the bill nicely too

Favorite Sport?
Baseball.

Favorite book?
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It's a classic!

First appearance on KOST?
12:00 am, November 15th, 1982.

What was the worst job you ever had?
Dishwasher at a restaurant when I was 16.

What was your first radio job?
Halfway through my senior year in high school I got a job in the music research department at the legendary Sacramento top forty station KROY.

Best experience in radio?
Making Christmas Wishes come true for those in need.

If you weren't in radio, what would you be doing?
Tough question. If I'd stuck with it I would probably have my own Karate school. I gave it up after a shoulder injury. Owning a really cool cafe would be an alternate. But I'd have probably ended up a teacher.

What advice would you give to anyone who would like to get into the business?
Start small, work your way up and learn about all the jobs in the industry. Don't limit yourself. There are a great number of things you can do in radio, and they're all rewarding. Oh, and get a good education

Best artist you met/interviewed?
Carly Simon. She was sweet, and I think she could tell I was shaking.

If you were the President of the United States, what would you want to change?
I would make sure that people could take home more of what they earned. Bring quality healthcare to everyone and make sure that no child went without food, a good education and a safe place to live. Peace on earth wouldn't be bad either...

World's smallest lunch!

This story caught my, and made me hungry for Ramen too!  Japanese scientists say they have used cutting-edge technology to create a noodle bowl so small it can be seen only through a microscope.  Mechanical engineering professor Masayuki Nakao said Thursday that he and his students at the University of Tokyo used a carbon-based material to produce a noodle bowl with a diameter 1/25,000 of an inch in a project aimed at developing nanotube-processing technology.  The Japanese-style ramen bowl was carved out of microscopic nanotubes, Nakao said.  Okay, I guess it’s cool, but it won’t help with your hunger and you can’t even see it without a microscope, but it is a scientific advancement.

Well, it’s not a drive by, but it is a crime.

A New Zealand man has been accused of assault with prickly weapon — a hedgehog!  He’s been fined by a court and ordered to pay most of his fine to his teenage victim.  Whakatane District Court was told Thursday that William Singalargh picked up the hedgehog and threw it several yards to hit a 15-year-old boy in the North Island east coast town of Whakatane on Feb. 9.  Police told the court the creature had hit the victim in the leg, causing a large, red welt and several puncture marks. The teen did not need medical treatment.  Okay, but what about the hedgehog?

That's just weird!

Wicked Again!

Defy Gravity!

Regular readers of my blog will no doubt remember reading about my visit to the Pantages Theater last year to see the smash hit musical Wicked.  If you're lucky enough to live in Chicago, New York City, London, Tokyo, and right here in La La Land you've got the opportunity to see one of the most fun musical productions to come along in quite some time.  It tells the story of the witches of Oz before Dorothy dropped in and what a beautiful back story it is giving you insights into the origins of not just the witches, but the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion.  You'll see the Wizard in a different light too.

As I said last year, I'm not the Broadway Musical type, but I am absolutely in love with this show!  Well last night I had the chance to see Wicked again.  I will admit that I was wondering if I would like the "new" Elphaba.  Last year Eden Espinoza was wearing the green and she was wonderful!  Well Eden has moved on to a new project and the role is now played by another Broadway vet Caissie Levy, and she was great!  Megan Hilty was again on top of her game as Glinda the good witch, uh I mean Guh-Linda!  See the show, you'll get the reference.  Viewing Wicked again was really cool as it allowed me to focus on things I may have missed before and I have to say that everyone on stage is simply perfect.  You'll get a kick out of JoAnne Worley as Madam Morrible and John Rubinstein is ideal in the role of the Wizard of Oz.

Look I could fill up a page or two about this show but in an effort to get to the point I'll just say this, see Wicked, it'll make you laugh and quite possibly bring a tear to you eye as well.  It's a love story and a comedy and at times a drama, plus the music is brilliant.  Wicked is currently playing at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood.  You're gonna love it!
