A true beach girl, Kari Steele is the surfing SoCal gal who brings more than 23 years of experience to Radio. Originally from California, Kari started her radio career in Hawaii and remained there for ten years. She came back to raise her wonderful family and to soak in the Cali sun. She is a sports nut and enjoys most everything outdoors. Kari is the proud mom of two sons: Drake, her 18 year-old and Cameron, her 15 year old. She has coached Cameron's baseball teams and also referees AYSO soccer. Keeping up with her boys has given her a better workout than she could ever get at the gym. Kari loves to spend her Sundays relaxing and catching up on all the past week's TV shows that she has DVR'd. She loves going to concerts and seeing live theatre. Kari's favorite place to spend her free time is a cozy little place called home. She doesn't really "hang out" much, instead she enjoys having friends over. Kari is a huge Angels baseball fan and frequently goes to games to represent her favorite team! In addition to going to baseball games, the beach and family time are on her list of favorite things to do

Productivity and the minimum wage generally increased at the same rate from 1947 to 1969,

economists Dean Baker and Will Kimball determined that the minimum wage would
be $16.54 today if it had continued to keep pace with productivity.
The strikers are asking for $15 an hour.

As 2013 comes to a close a survey was taken. "What promise are you making to yourself in 2014?"
Most people said things like finda a new job, read more books or volunteer more. But 2% of respondents said they planned to get their boss fired! Wow! Even if I felt like that I would never admit it!

Bryce Brites is only 20 months old. He just became the youngest professional
football player on the planet.
This past week, Bryce signed with Belgian club FC Racing Boxberg, based near
his home city of Genk, after
impressing coaches with his “highly unusual” talent and “incredible” ball control.
The club’s coach commented on the bizarre deal after it
was completed, saying it was the obvious choice due to Bryce’s talent.
‘His ball control is incredible for somebody of his age.’
I am not sure what this signing will earn young Bryce,
but he is already making more than my 19 YEAR old! Gotta have a talk with my son.
I recently chatted with Colbie about her new record and forthcoming album. Hear it here:
Thawing a turkey
Most purchase a frozen turkey from the grocery store. It's usually a solid rock of turkey and ice -- but don't let that deter you from creating something amazing. If you are buying a frozen turkey, make sure you buy it enough time in advance of your dinner. The turkey can sometimes take up to a week to thaw, depending on the size of your bird.
There are several methods one can use to thaw a turkey. The most tried-and-true way is to put your frozen turkey in the refrigerator and let it thaw one day for every 4 pounds of turkey. When thawing the turkey, leave it in its original packaging and place it on a cookie sheet.
Other methods involve putting the turkey in a sink of cold water. This works, but the water has to stay a certain cold temperature the entire time, which means extra work for you on an already busy day.
Brining your turkey
Another thawing method is to brine the turkey. Brining is a method involving salt, sugar and other herbs, and soaking the turkey in a "bath" for anywhere from eight to 12 hours.
Brining keeps the turkey moist by infusing it with a salt and sugar concoction that makes for good flavoring on your bird, as well as tasty gravy. I've also read it prevents overcooking.
