
Cold weather means it's time to make hearty food! The Crockpot is the best way to do that, plus with a biusy schedule it just makes sense. Run to the mall, or on a 911 call, and dinner is still cooking so when you come back tired & hungry, everyone will be fed. Try this chili recipe from Ian Thompson, Huntington Beach Fire. This one feeds 9 to 10 guys! Eat up. It's chow time!
Ingredients:
5 lbs Lean ground round or turkey (or beef!)
2 large cans of Chili Beans
4 cans mexican stewed tomatos
1 can diced Ortagas chilis
1 can canned nibblet corn
2 large yellow onions
4 bell peppers (red, Green and yellow)
1 can od El Patio tomato sauce
Brown hambuger with the diced onions and bell peppers, drain the fat add the chili beans, El Patio, stewed tomatos, Ortaga Chilis, corn, salt, pepper, onion salt, and garlic salt.
Simmer for 2 to 4 hours ( Or when ever you think it is ready) Serve with Sourdough bread or Corn Bread.
