Last night we went to our first "Mother-Daughter" audition. Isabel had to wear her pajamas & play "sick". Her Dad & I had discussed possibley doing this with her in the past.. Just about everytime we left a crowded elevator, after she'd instantly made friends with everyone, telling stories to someone (anyone), until the door practically shut on her face. "Izzy seems really outgoing. Think she would like acting?"

On the break-down of my audition for Children's Motrin yesterday it asked actors to bring your 3-7 yr old kid if you have one.

"Would you like to come to Mommy's audition with me? It's to try out for a commercial on TV." I told her how it works, & that this is just for fun, & it'd be neat if they picked us, but the goal was to do our best at trying something new & have a good time.

In the casting session she followed every direction to a T. Stood on her "mark" of blue tape on the ground. "Slated" her name & age with enthusiasm "I'm 4! 4! 4!" And she introduced herself as Isabel, not "Izzy". I asked her earlier which she preffered. She declared that she would be going with her formal name.

There was a makeshift bed & she had to pretend to sleep, then awaken when I touched her head. We fake-read a book. And then she had to run in & hug me. She did EVERYTHING the casting director told her to do. The just forgot to tell her one liiiiiitle thing. When you pose for a picture, where do you usually look & say cheese? Yep. And that's exactly where you are NOT supposed to look when you're acting on film. LOL!

But, she was my tiny Oscar winner & I'm so proud of her! She by the way asked to practive her scene again & again when we got home. On our bedtime call from Daddy at the fire station, he said "You remind me of your Mommy." We practiced the sleeping part, & pretend-coughed & fell asleep together...
