My Mommy Mantra:"You had your time, you had the power. You've yet to have your finest hour."
Being active online and on the ground are 2 things all our kids have figured out how to do. But these are a few things I've found that we can do together, as a family this Fall, and really enjoy it. Beyond the Holidays (gulp!), we can start having fun and giving-back before it all gets too crazy. I have specialists, event coordinators, social media experts, and momprenuers helping us do just that..

I want to thank Nikki Hernandez from http://www.wam5k.com/ for stopping by and getting us ready to walk! More info on The Mark & Kristin Morning Show Blog (Yes, she is related to Rodrigo our producer. For real, she is!) And you'll hear us talking about her this week on our show.
Please find out how you can help raise awareness, raise funds and get walking to fight Melanoma next weekend right here in LA.
I met Alica Jones a while back at a blogging conference. She told me about a movement in SoCal that she had fallen in-love with & as soon as she explained it to me, I knew I had to share with you. Are you in the "business"? Are you a movie buff? Or are you one of millions of us that went to a drive-in movie and can still remember everything about it. Memories may be all we have soon. The Drive-in may be extinct forever.
Fall is here! It's about time for Pumkin Patches, AYSO, Halloween Costume shopping and all that good stuff. Which also means it's time for back-to-school (homework), lots of candy (sugar highs and lows!), new bedtimes ("Falling back") and really busy weekends.
When these times arise, I call on my mom-help and I'm always sharing what and who helps me out, with you here on The Sunday Journal.
Baby Gizmo founder Hollie Schultz has tips for making a succesful transition from Summer to Autumn with the fewest casualties. She's got us geared-up with the right school EQ, eco-friendly holiday ideas, and lists what the trend will be on Christmas lists (Don't fight it. Xmas will be here in the blink of an eye, and this could be the year you were actually done shopping ahead of time.) So a little help.. Let's do this!
Coming next is The Fall Family Fest & more safety, baby care, and product events from Club Momme. I have Rachel Pitzel from MomMe Must Haves & Club MomMe Founding MomMe, helps paint the picture of a an inviting Holiday-time, with wonderful resources she makes available to us this season. Check back for more!
Maybe you have to work today.. (and if so you have to watch my video on Instagram. You'll appreciate it.)
These party pics are cute and I love the ideas. Even if I can't take the time to do it, or my husband is working just like me, OR whatever. I don't really lovelove doing crafty stuff. I have the best intentions, then lose interest. Plus, there's Etsy.
I still enjoy window-shopping around Pinterest and dream of long lazy days on my farm back east with my fresh egg frittata and gift-wrapping room. Things I have in my real life, online.
SHOUT OUT to "Not Just A Mommy" who has the molecular unit of heredity I call The MarthaStewart Gene. Check out her fun party ideas & share with your friends too. It's like mood therapy. And it's carb-free.
A sneak peak happened at the Arclight last night in Hollywood...
It was a rumbling heard down Melrose.. over the hills... all the way to the West Valley where my tweenage sister got a special phone call.
"You are invited to a special party to see One Direction in 3D!"
And her screams of joy rang out. You heard that right? So that was her.
She loved watching Harry's hair bounce so close to her face she could almost reach out and comb it. Her mom loved the martinis. (Oh yeah parents the Archlight Hollywood has a full bar. Ding Ding Ding.)
Tomorrow at 7:20 Morgan Spurlock is on our show. I want to ask him if he is a boy band fan, or did 1D just work their spell on him like they did with all the rest of us? C'mon, you know you like that 'Beautiful' song. I sing it in the shower. It just really sticks in the brain.
Biggest band in the world right now. This movie should take the box office this weekend. Nell Minow our Movie Mom reviewer will fill you in at 5:30/8:30 with more. MomsLA has more on events in LA for the kidlets & parents. Sarah & Yvonne always have an eye out for us moms.
Like this.. Did you know Niall Horan only records music naked? It's the "little things";)
A "Top 5" fave from Mommy Mondays
"How Living With A Toddler Is Like Being In Prison"
1. Someone's always watching you go to the bathroom.
2. Every morning starts with someone screaming at you to get up!
3. You're always terrified that something bad will happen while you are taking a shower.
4. "Contraband" (ie. booze, chocolate, adult entertainment) must be smuggled in and consumed in secret.
5. Intimate visits with your spouse require intense scheduling, don't last long & are often interrupted.
