As we head quickly into the autumn months, the leaves aren't the only things that are changing. It's been my pleasure to share the midday hours with you (10am-2pm) for the past seven months. Your response to the show was tremendous and I thank you for spending your workday hours with The KOST. Now, a brand new adventure begins. With the end of summer, you'll start hearing me most weekday afternoons from 3pm-7pm. Plus, I'll still be filling in occasionally on the nightly "Lovesongs" Show, the KOST Morning Show or wherever I'm needed. Thanks again for your neverending support and encouragement. This amazing partnership between me and The KOST began back on November 15, 1982 and it isn't over yet. I look forward to meeting you at one of our many planned events during the next 18 months. Ted Ziegenbusch
Ted is heard most weekday afternoons from 3pm-7pm. You'll also catch Ted Ziegenbusch hosting various weekend shows including "Lovesongs on KOST 103.5".
Ted's love for radio began at the age of fifteen, when he was invited to be the featured guest on a morning radio show. He became an instant hit with the radio audience as he described his fascination with California's popular tourist attraction, Hearst Castle.
Throughout elementary and junior high school, Ted appeared in numerous theatrical productions. He won The National Thespian's Best Actor Award for his appearance in the musical "Bye Bye Birdie.� He was also named an All-time Outstanding Graduate of San Bernardino City Schools.
Upon graduation from high school, Ted attended San Bernardino Valley College, obtaining a degree in Communications and Drama. He was also vice-president of the broadcast fraternity and the chosen delegate to the national convention.
For many years before KOST, Ted was the host of a popular morning radio show in San Bernardino and Riverside where he was known as "Ziggy in the Morning."
In the eighties, Ted moved south to San Diego and became the wake-up host and Program Director for a powerhouse radio station called "The Mighty 690." Later, Ted became the host of other popular morning shows on 91X, KGB and KIFM in San Diego.
During the fall of 1982, Ted joined KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles. At KOST, Ted began an 18 year run as the most popular late night radio host in all of Southern California. With Ted's warm and caring style, he attracted millions of listeners every week to his nightly "Love Songs" segment. Ted left the station in October of 2000.
For his years away from KOST, Ted was one-half of the morning radio team "Ted and Lauren in the Morning� on 95.9FM "The Fish" in Anaheim. Ted also handled midday duties on KKLA in Los Angeles, leaving both of those stations in May of 2006. Ted was back with KOST 103.5 from 2006-2009 before another brief time away. Back for an unprecedented third time, Ted can be heard most afternoons 3-7pm and frequently on the weekend Love Songs Show 7pm-midnight in the evenings.
Ted is a member of Screen Actors Guild and has appeared in various movies, television shows and theatrical productions. Along with the legendary Dick Clark, Ted became the host of a nationwide television project called "The Heartline." He was also the host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Saturday Night Lovesongs with Ted Ziegenbusch."
In addition to being named one of the Outstanding Young Men in America for three consecutive years, Ted has been listed in several editions of "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in Entertainment." He is a recent recipient of the Arvella Schuller Award at Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. The annual award is given to someone who is a positive influence on America's young people. Previous winners have included Steve Allen, Dr. Laura and former Dodger's manager Tommy Lasorda.
