Tom Petty suffered a heart attack yesterday and was found unconscious in his Malibu home by his family, according to TMZ.
Petty was rushed to the UCLA hospital in Santa Monica where he was put on life support.
EMTs were able to find a pulse when they found him, but TMZ also reported that the hospital found no brain activity when he arrived.
A decision was made to pull life support.
CBS news confirmed Tom Petty has died at the age of 66.
